Opening reception. Short presentation of the EILC program, making acquaintances, etc.
Saturday, July 28
Trip to Neringa National Park. The Hill of Witches, full of mythology and fairy tales, is something that you can see only here; visit to the Dead Dunes, the Golden Dune, Thomas Mann`s house, Lighthouse, the Baltic sea and the Curonian lagoon.Language practice performed in a joyful way.

The first week, July 30-August 4
Tuesday, July 31
City tour with a guide in Lithuanian and English. Simple practicing going around in the town.
Wednesday, August 1
Celebration of Klaipeda 760th anniversary in the Old Town. Handicraft market and a special cultural and entertainment program bringing you back to the Medieval Ages. Participation with the mentors
Thursday, August 2
Interactive lecture in the University Folk Art Museum.
International party. Presentation of participant’s countries and national cuisine. Favourite Lithuanian snacks. Lithuanian songs and dances.

The festival weekend, August 3-5
The Sea Festival 2012 weekend starts in Klaipeda: a unique cultural and entertaining program. The whole town celebrates that weekend almost non-stop. The festival is famous in Lithuania and abroad and attracts lots of guests.
The course students participate on their own and/or with student mentors. Ordering food in practice. Talking about food. Possibility to practice buying things. Practicing finding places in the town.
The second week, August 6-12
Tuesday, August 7
Excursion to Palanga, a favourite place of Lithuanians in summer. The Amber Museum, the Botanical Garden, a promenade from the centre of the town to the beach.
Wednesday, August 9
Interactive lecture “Lithuania in Europe and in the world: the past and the present”
Friday– Sunday, August 10–12

Trip throughout Lithuania: Vilnius, Kaunas, Kernavė and Trakai (present and former capitals of Lithuania)
Kaunas in 1920-1940 was temporary capital of Lithuania. Old town tour. Night in a guest house.
Excursion to ethnographic open-air museum of Rumšiškės.
Trakai is the old capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, a town surrounded by three lakes. Excursion around Trakai, peninsula’s castle, free time.
In Vilnius we will visit the Castle of Gediminas, the Grand Duke of Lithuania; The Parliament; the TV tower; the unique Old City; Vilnius University, etc. Night in a guest house.
In Kernavė we will have a lecture in the open air about the formation of the Lithuanian State, having an inspiring view of the oldest castle hills.
The third week, August 13-19
Tuesday afternoon, August 14 -Wednesday, August 15

Trip to Western Lithuania. Tuesday evening: Lithuanian party with local folk musicians: songs and dances and national cuisine at a rural tourism farmstead. During the trip you will get acquainted with the ethnographical region of Žemaitija, its culture and history, the mixture of Christian and pagan religions in the culture and traditions. We will sing Lithuanian songs and will have practical Lithuanian lessons.
Wednesday: Non-working day in Lithuania (Žolinė, The Assumption).
Doing of the home tasks assigned during the weekend.
The fourth week, August 20-24
Monday, August 20

Meeting a Lithuanian family at home. Fulfilment of special language tasks. Snacks.
Thursday, August 23
Watching a Lithuanian film. A discussion.
After the exam we will watch a Lithuanian film to relax and after that we will have a discussion in the Aula Magna of the University.
Friday, August 23
The graduation ceremony. The students will get their course diploma.

Closing event. Farewell barbecue in the Botanical Garden of the University. Folk party.
