CHANGING EDUCATIONIN A CHANGING SOCIETY
The Association for Teacher Education in Europe is a multicultural association with over 600 members from more than 40 countries. Focus of ATEE organization is professional development of teachers and teacher education at all levels. One of activities of the ATEE association is the organization of conferences. Conferences provide its members and other professionals in the field of teacher education with important opportunities for discussion and exchange of new ideas and experience. A conference is organised every year.
The General Assembly of the ATEE held a conference in Macerata in 1997, one of the outcomes was a proposal to hold a conference in Lithuania. The chosen time for this event was the spring of 1998, hence the name ATEE Spring University. It was the first Spring University of ATEE in Klaipėda. Now the list of ATEE Spring University conferences is longer. This list now has nine entries of conferences held in Klaipeda, Tartu, and Riga Universities.
In 2009 The Spring University returns to Klaipeda!
The conference is designed to discuss the aspects of teachers training in the context of European dimensions and the influence on EU development in designing teachers’ education network and stimulating implementation of innovations in Lithuanian educational institutions.
